The presentation will focus on assessment and case selection for conscious sedation patients in the dental office. It will discuss various levels of sedation that can be accomplished with varied medications that are readily available to trained pediatric dentists. Various modalities will be reviewed and discussed from IN, SM, Oral sedations and a combination of these modalities. Unique patient history and conditions will be reviewed that may deter sedation from being a viable and safer option within the dental office. A portion of the presentation will focus on birth history and development and how this can impact sedation. Also topics with ADHD, Asthma, Obesity, OSA/SDB and other common conditions that can make sedation challenging. Review of common emergencies, drug modalities and administrative routes and monitoring of the patient will be reviewed and discussed during the presentation.
