The lecture submitted will provide a comprehensive review of Pediatric Periodontal Disease. Due to the fact that I write on this topic for UpToDate, I have to keep abreast of the most current sound scientific evidence, I am able to also keep this lecture current. I also use case-based learning style incorporating cases to demonstrate each diagnosis.
Learning Objectives:
Upon completion, the participants will be able to describe and differentiate healthy gingiva and periodontium from pathologic tissues.
Upon completion, the participants will be able to categorize pediatric periodontal diseases into 4 sections using the Periodontal Disease Matrix which enhances diagnosis and management.
Upon completion, the participants will be able to manage a child with periodontal disease in a systematic stepwise fashion..
