This course will address silver diamine fluoride (SDF), a material that is gaining traction in the dental treatment of pediatric patients, geriatric patients and patients with special healthcare needs. We will discuss the history of silver products in dentistry, how scientists believe SDF works, current research regarding SDF treatment and how SDF can be incorporated into practice with a focus on evidence based dentistry and academy guidelines.
